It extends 2.75" past the front of the receiver for a more ideal forward grip point.

WARNING: This handguard is designed to be used with a suppressor or muzzle extension. DO NOT fire your KUNA without using either of those while the handguard is installed. Failure to do so could result in injury or damage to the handguard and/or installed accessories. Haga Defense recommends the Midwest Industries "Blast Can" which is shown as an optional add-on.
Thermal Performance and Material Considerations: Customers have occasionally raised questions regarding the potential for sustained suppressor heat to adversely affect the polymer handguard during extended or high-volume firing schedules. In-house testing, combined with years of real-world use of similar polymer over-suppressor handguard systems across multiple platforms, has shown no instances of melting, deformation, or material degradation under normal to heavy use conditions with pistol caliber rounds. While the handguard is engineered to withstand the thermal loads typically encountered in operational and recreational shooting, extreme sustained fire (e.g., prolonged full-automatic or high-round-count mag-dump scenarios with minimal cooling intervals) may exceed the design parameters of any polymer-based handguard. In such cases, elevated temperatures could potentially affect the material, especially if an appropriate air gap is not maintained between the suppressor and inside of the handguard to promote cooling. We recommend exercising appropriate caution and sound judgment during unusually demanding range sessions, particularly in high-ambient-temperature environments with prolonged full-automatic fire. As with all firearm components, the end user assumes responsibility for employment beyond standard use cases.
